Magic No Gauge Socks are an excellent next step in your sock knitting adventures. In this class you will learn how to knit socks from the toe up, magic loop method, using circular needles. The pattern is inclusive of Fingering, DK or Sport weight yarn, even worsted if you wish? However, we suggest beginning with DK yarn and size US 3 needles for first time sock knitters, for ease of handling. This class will teach: Turkish cast on, toe up construction, knitting in the round, short row heel, changing colors, ribbing, the anatomy of the sock and how to knit it. And how to use the Sock Ruler to make any size sock you wish. Basic knitting skills required: Cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, bind off.
The class is taught in four 2-hour sessions.

Part One:
Saturday Aug 10th
First session is to learn the Turkish cast on, knit the foot in the round. Learn to use a sock sizing ruler to custom fit the sock to any foot size! Any yarn, any gauge, any foot, just perfectly sized socks.
Part Two:
Saturday, Aug 24th
Second class you learn the short row heel & reverse shaping of the heel.
Part Three:
Saturday, Sept 74th
Finally, the last is the leg of the sock and ribbing. At this point you may want to add in any color changes you like. We will talk about add in’s, decorative doodles you can add if you wish. Finish up with ribbing and a super stretchy bind off.
Bonus Extra Session:
Saturday, Sept 21st
Need extra time or need help working on certain techniques? This bonus extra session is perfect for wrapping things up. Or for casting on another pair!

Needles: 24” or 32” circular needles that are at least 2 sizes smaller than recommended on the ball band of your chosen yarn weight. We can help you choose.
2 full skeins, any weight yarn, really! One for the Main Color and one for contrast color on cuff, heel or toe. Or you can use a mini skein for your contrast color if desired?
