There are certain things that you can learn that will help improve your knitting, no matter how long you have been crafting away. You can learn these things in this two part boot camp session. Learn how to rip back the same or the sane way, how to get your knitting back on your needles without twisting stitches, and how not to drop them . Also, learn to read your knitting, tell the difference between knits, purls, and mistakes. Learn to recognize and pick up dropped yarnovers. We will learn how to pick up dropped stitches and how to recreate a knit stitch and a purl stitch with both a crochet hook and your needle tips. Best of all, we will be practicing with 3 swatches of fabric with mistakes purposely put in them. Together, we will find those mistakes and fix them so you would never know there was a mistake to begin with. Shhh, it will be our secret. We will be working on garter fabric (all knits), stockinette (knits on front and purls on back), and ribbing (knit 2, purl 2). If you want to make your own swatches to practices with use worsted weight yarn in a light colour and cast on 20-25 stitches and make 3 squares in those three patterns but put some mistakes in there on purpose to fix later. DO NOT BIND OFF. This class is in person only. Please prepare the 3 swatches for practice before coming to class!
Are you interested in learning how to knit a pair of socks, but find the idea intimidating or new to knitting in the round? This class is for you! Learn how to knit socks one-at-a-time top down. Both double pointed needles and magic loop will be taught, depending on personal preference. This class will teach knitting in the round, ribbing, changing colors, the anatomy of the sock and how to knit it, plus the Kitchener stitch. Basic knitting skills are required: Must know how to cast on, knit stitch, & purl stitch.
