Dala Sweater - In Shop Only
It’s sweater time and Dala Sweater with it’s adorable horses will charm it’s way into your heart! Dalecarlian horse or Dala is a traditional carved, painted wooden statue of a horse originating in the Swedish province of Dalarna. Dala represents the spirit of the region and the timeless beauty of folk art. Come join us and knit your very own Dala Sweater. It is knitted in the round with top down construction using fingering weight yarn. Basic knitting skills are required: Cast on, Knit stitch, Purl stitch. You will learn German Twisted cast on, Stranded Color work, M1r, make one right & M1l, make one left increases, German short row shaping. There are 7 sizes to choose from, with finished bust circummference 33.4 ,37, 40.8, 44, 48, 52, 55”. Stop by the shop and we would love to help you select a color combination from the many lovely fingering yarns we have available for you to choose from for your very own Dala.

NOTE: Materials for this class must be purchased at the Altered Stitch. PLEASE come early to pick your materials and have them wound before class begins. You are more than welcome to come any day before the class. Any of the staff will be more than happy to help you with your yarn choices and get you prepared for class at your convenience.
